Thoughts on new TV show regarding Swingers

So it's hard to miss the ads about Swingtown, premiering next week. What are your thoughts on this upcoming show? Do you think swingers will be portrayed in a poor light? Or do you think it will open the general public's eyes to our naughty little world? Will you be watching?

I agree, it is a little predictable - but that's a good thing! It's predictable because we have all to some extent lived it. It means it's kinda following the lifestyle as it is, not as the networks wish to make it appear! Loved seeing Janet get stoned and skinny dipping last week! LOL Who's for naked Twister? ;)

I read some of the forums on CBS's website as well, and have to say it's rather entertaining. I watched the show and it was good. Lagged in the beginning but the end seemed like a pretty accurate representation of todays events (less the drugs). Whenever there is sex or the idea of homosexuality (or as we call it, being bi) people will always freak out. The Christian groups will get envolved, yell and scream about morality and in the end the show will be pulled from the air - unless we can really prove that sex sells :D Let's see if we can keep this show on the air and post your comments on CBS's website. And remember to watch this Thursday!

OMG this show should not be on TV>>>>>LMAO OMG its just a TV show and people are having a hissy fit ( too funny ) I guess they should have a fit about cenimax soft porn starting at as early as 6 pm too. I like the way people point the blame ( get a mirror!!! hey your pointing at yourself!) sorry i just got off the web site for the new series and the things people are writing bad about the show and are worried about there 4yr old seeing this show at 10pm type of comments and my teen boys comments (omg your kids already know more about sex then there parents do I bet) maybe the show might go into safe sex issues and save most of these parents the issues of early unplanned babies LMAO If there so worried about TV programing then sell the nasty TV. I think we all should fill up the swingtown message board with good comments... TNT

JandM I hope the creators have done their research and dont make it look or seem dirty but chances are they will. I would rather see more playing than watching TV myself. And beaver im with you on the buffet thing load up the plate. What people outside the lifestyle are going to have a hard time wrapping their brains around is the fact that sex is just that sex. In my opinion we are not monogamus we have had sex with other's long before we even heard that word. And loved more than once so therefore not monogamus. Whales are the only monogamus mamal's I can think of. When you marry you are making a statement that you want to share the rest of your life with that person, well were sharing. NOW LETS ALL GET OUT OF THIS FORUM AND LET'S GET TO PLAYING :-)

rotflmao@ Tim (my hero), hugs to Maggs (my friend), holy shit aren't we a way too serious crowd, I love this lifestyle and for me and my wife of 32 years it works just fine, I know this is a shitty analogy how ever when ya go to a buffet, ya just put one item on yer plate...hell fucking no...variety. differend smells, taste, textures...woohoo, thats the ticket. As far as the tv show, perhaps it will open some minds, perhaps not... I am with Maggs...could be good on Showtime...lmao

WHOOAAA there folks... I have to take a strong stance here and agree 100% with Maggie. Being sexually satisfied with my partner has absolutely nothing, zero, zilch, nil to do with our involvement with swinging.
If anyone's here because they're not satisfied with their partner, they're here for the wrong reasons.
We share our sex life with others because it's fun, plain and simple... it's fun!!!

Swinging has nothing to do w/couples not being able to satisfy each other. A couple, married or not, have decided that they want to either explore or further develop their sexuality with others. They have taken some time to talk about it and settle some ground rules. There's a reason it's called an OPEN marriage/relationship. Most couples agree to only play together or at least in the same room. And cheating is going to happen regardless a couple is in the lifestyle or not. It surprises me sometimes that for such an alternative lifestyle that supposedly has free spirits, there is still so much judging that goes on.
But about the show: it's a network show (CBS at that), so you know it is NOT going to be quite that provacative. Too bad it couldn't be on Showtime or HBO!!!

Well from what I learned from couples here on BC: the show will portray the lifestyle your leading: married couples who have taken vows to love, honor and respect each other and cannot sexually satisfy each other so they have sex with others with mutual agreement. What channel will it be on so I can watch it.

I feel that there would be a lot less cheating in this world, if people just talked about what they want. The problem is not the people who swing its that there is couples whom do not talk with each other and thats why one will stra. Swingers know what they want and say it why should that make us wrong.

I'm sure they'll make fun of it. This country has always been very concervative and it's gotten worse in the last decade.
This will open the eyes of those who would try it sooner or later though. So, overall this will be good for the lifestyle since there is no bad publicity :-)
